Explanation / Answer

Two examples of characters which have been lost in later lineages are--

1] Carnesial teeth -- Though all the given examples are carnivorous, the carnisial teeth are found only in dogs and foxes and are lost in the upper animals.

2] Menstrual cycle -- Only human beings have a monthly menstrual cycle and can breed throughout the year. All other animals named in the chart breed only in season. And human beings occupy the highest notch in the evolutionary tree.

Two characters which have evolved

1] Walking on 4 limbs- lOf all the given examples, only humans show bipedal locomotion. Even gorillas, which are closely related to humans, move on four limbs.

2] Tail-- Tail has evolved convergently in the above mentioned animals. Tail is present in primates like opposum, bears and monkeys as well as in dogs and foxes.
