A = 2,000(1+0.06)10 = 2,000 x 1.79084=$3,581.70
Interest = Amount - Principal = $3,581.70 - 2,000 = $1,581.70
Interest earned on accumulated interest = $1,58170 - Simple interest for 10 years on $2,000
= $1,581.70 - $1,200 = $381.70
If the rate of interest is 8%, additional interest is as follows:
Amount = 2,000(1+0.08)10 = 2,000 x 2.158924997 = $4,317.85
Interest = $4,317.85 - 2,000 = 2,317.85
Additional interest = $2,317.85 - 1,581.70 = $ 1,999.85
2. Future value of investment of $100,000 @ 5% return in 8 years = 100,000(1+0.05)8
= 100,000 x 1.47745544378
= $147,745.54
