I have been running into what seems to me to be a growing number of people, younger people especially, bypassing the more popular internet job sites such as Monster.com, CareerBuilder.com, etc. and instead using social networking sites such as Linkedin, Facebook, and even personal web pages to present themselves as available and interested in jobs in certain specific fields or using those tools to make personal contacts in organizations ("I see that you also graduated from DeVry, etc."). I've even heard a few HR managers say they often search such sources for possible candidates. What do you think? Might this be an emerging trend in looking for specific types of jobs?

The rise in the social networking and use of internet has increase a lot. The candidates seeking jobs follows a company vacancy section online. The HR managers takes the help of job portals so that the job vacancy posted by them. The candidates post their resume on the careers section of company's website and selection takes place based on the requirement of the companies. The online job search is the primary selection procedure of recruitment process. The selection is based upon the requirements as per the work profile of the company.
This might be an emerging trend in looking for specific types of jobs because the trend of online job portals is rising with time. The use of internet by many professionals tend to post job profile and candidates seeking work profile in a company. The entry level selection online helps companies to get increasing number of entries online and the rest of the recruitment procedure is followed offline.
