Question

You’ve learned a lot about a variety of proteins and mechanisms that are involved in promoting the development of cancer. Obviously, developing novel therapies for cancer is at the forefront of science today... so based on what we’ve talked about (I strongly discourage you from Googling around for an answer to this, by the way, as you’ll be graded on your ability to apply information learned from lecture, not whatever random things you can find on the internet), what protein would you target (to either increase or decrease its overall functionality) as a potential therapeutic agent for cancer and why? (<4 sentences)

Explanation / Answer

You can choose Ras protein which is a proto oncogenes and is converted to oncogene in many cancers. Designing a drug which can inhibit this protein can be a potential therapeutic agent for cancer.
