Question

Because your canoe is of limited size you can only take 15 species along. Make a list of 15 species of plants, by common and latin name, that you would choose to take. For each of the 15, justify in a brief paragraph why you include that selection on the basis of what value that plant has. Plants with multiple uses are especially valuable. For purposes of this assignment, you can assume that any plant you take will grow sufficiently well where you land: that is, assume an Apple tree, Peyote and Bananas can grow together on your special island even though in real life this is an unlikely assumption. Do not assume animals or fish will be abundant (or even present!) as food on your island, but it would be a good idea to prepare for the opportunity with materials to produce hunting or fishing equipment.
