The mode of inheritance is clearly AUTOSOMAL DOMINANCE and the starting genotype of 1 and 2 are Ii x ii, I being the infected and i being normal. As a result almost half of the population is infected which have Ii genotype, I being dominant which when again mated with a homozygous normal, gives 50% normal and 50% infected.
