iualray chips in an organized way, creating all sorts of different how they can put thousands for samples to hybridize (bind) to. Several microarrays were made with the most common genes implicated in ACC. DNA samples from sic were analyzed ee E s Patient #3. Page 7 A Family In Need: Internet-Enhanced Case Study on Cancer Genetics by Janet A. De Souza-Hart ???? ry G ????Explanation / Answer
The gene expression data gives an overall picture about the genes affected by the ACC mutation. This mutation has induced high expression of APC in 4 out of 6 patients. This indicates that the APC expression is highly affected in most of the ACC cases, occurance factor of over 75%. APC is a tunor suppressor gene, it is interesting to see that it is highly overexpressed in patients.
Another gene TP53 which is a cell cycle regulator is downregulated in ACC condition. This has occured in 3 out of 6 patients, indicating 50% occurance.
The mutations in APC, leads to conversion of normal tissue into small adenoma. The further mutations in p53 can lead to carcinoma. But in the case of ACC, the high expression of APC is leading to cancer.
