Their long term aim is to become the largest ticket agency in ur p middot must attempt At present the majority of their business (approximately 25 million turnover) ,n sale and distribution of concert ticket for both large venues (such as the O re London, the LG arena in Birmingham and the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle (an seating over 10,000 people)), and smaller venues such as the Birmingham Town Hall (1086 seats). However they are not the sole seller of tickets for these venues, and as such need to have a link to the venues ticketing database. They have also recently moved into the sports ticketing also, obtaining the sole rights for online sales for several large football clubs (although tickets are also sold to individuals at the grounds in person). They are able to deliver tickets in many formats. The most common is a printed ticket delivered by recorded delivery post. However e-tickets (where tickets are e-mailed to be printed by the customer) and mobile phone tickets (where a bar code is emailed to a mobile phone) are becoming increasingly common. Tickets-R-Us have recently had difficulty whereby more than one person has arrived at a venue with tickets for the same seat. They are unsure if this is a problem with their own systems or an attempt by individuals to defraud the system. Tickets-R-Us make major use of computer networks, both Local Area (LAN) and Wide Area (WAN). Give a detailed description of why Tickets-R-Us would use each of the above type of Networks. Explain the security measures that Tickets-R-Us should adopt to ensure that data is safe whilst being transmitted around both the WANs and LANs. Explain the data that Tickets-are-us will need to store on their computer systems and the steps they should take to ensure its safety. a) LAN: It refers to Local Area Network. As they are selling tickets using different mediums and touchpoint, it is important to have data consistency within the organization also. LAN helps maintaining secure localized networks within Organization level.
WAN: Wide Area Network is used for large networks where users are placed at remote locations. As tickets are sold by different vendors at different location, WAN helps keeping data consistent across different locations.
b) Authorization: Only authorized users should be allow to access the network and make transactions.
Data Validation and Transfer: Adequate encryption softwares should be used to encode/decode data transfers. Security key shoud be assigned to each transactions and validated for authorized users.
c) The company needs to store data at very micro level, to validate in future times.

d) The future lies with Cloud Computing. It is a simple but powerful solution. Every Booking system has to maintained by single centralized system. You can have different vendors selling tickets but each will have to validate to a single remote server. You cannot book duplicate ticket, high security, data consitency, low cost, different vendors can be selected.
