1). Adaptive immunity is classified into two types naturally acquired immunity and artificially acquired immunity. This depends on how the body is exposed to an antigen.

Again, the natural and artificial immunities can be active or passive. Active immunity occurs when the body’s immunity reacts towards harmful agent whether it is encountered naturally or artificially. Passive immunity develops when the antibodies developed in one individual are introduced into the other individual, who not immune previously.

Naturally acquired immunity is again of two types, active (getting through disease) and passive (from mother). In this, the exposure to antigen occurs as a part of daily life.

Artificially acquired immunity is again of two types, active (vaccine) and passive (immunoglobulin). In this, the antigen exposure occurs purposefully.
