iPad Discussion This graph below (Figure 1) shows global figures for Apple's iPad sales from the third quarter of 2010 to the company's most recent financial quarter. At the beginning of 2012, the iPad was the leader of the tablet market as Apple's iPad accounted for almost 60 percent of total global tablet shipments. The company has seen its share decrease over the years and in the fourth quarter of 2016 held only 24.7 percent of the market share. Despite the decline, Apple still remains a market leader. In 2017, Apple seems to be able to stop the declining trend for the first time in several years (see Figure 2). In coming to market share percentage also revised and increased to 2.5%(26.8 – 24.3).
This is really showing a positive sign in the sales in the future atmosphere.
However, the year-over-year growth percentage is recorded at only 3.0%.
Based on observing the above-mentioned values, the iPad’s market is going well but it is not enough to capture the market and face the competitors. So, they need to implement proper strategies like as 2017 year in order to capture the whole market at an international level.
2. iPad sales and market demand are reduced a lot compared to the sales figure in 2012. Because the iPad is still following the rigid features and design of the products & also lack of great features compared with other companies tablets.
Example: Lenovo tab had projector feature and other side iPad tablet had but not had great featured. Price also plays an important role here, the Lenovo tablet had great features and less price. However, the iPad tablet had not great features but the prices are very high. So, in general, as per the human nature, everyone flexible to buy the product Lenovo tablet maximum persons.
So, as per my analysis, the iPad is the lack of great features and high prices so this is the main reason the sales and market demand is reduced well in the international market.
3. Design and Features- In an initial, the iPad needs to change the design of their tablets. Later they need to add more friendly or flexible features to attract the customers and as well as to give a good competition for the other tablets on the market.
Price - the iPad tablets need to reduce the price. If they reduce the price ultimately, each and everyone prefers to take iPad tablet only.
Sizes - we have seen only 2 or 3 kinds of sizes in iPad tablets. However, the producers of iPad tablets need to produce in different kinds of sizes on the market. So, the persons will attract to the sizes then the sales will be increased.
Model - like as size up to now they released only a few models in the market. So, this is one of the disadvantages to reduce the market for Ipad’s. They need to design a different kind of models so everyone attracts to the model, if they have designed well.
In the above we have discussed the features, price, size, design and model, if the producers concentrate on these functions then they can boost the sales in the market in future and also demand can regain like as the sales of 2012.
