91. ANS: The plasma in the vacuum tube appears pink because of the hemolysis. The hemolysis process to refers to bursting/rupturing of RBC due to excessive inward movement of water/solvent, for ezample putting a blood sample or RBC pellet into ice cold water ruptures the RBCs due to excessive inward movement of water into the cells. The red blood cells breakdown can release the hemoglobin and it can turns the plasma (or serum) pink or red.
The three things that can cause it:
