1) Line Graph, and Pie Graph 2) Line Graph. It is for time series analysis - i.e. show trends and relationships over time. Pie Graph is use to display parts compare to a whole in proportional terms (percentages). 3) Line Graphs The information of interest is to perform analysis of accounts and/or variables affecting the accounts over the course of the period being analyzed and then to discern qualitative explanations of the moves. E.g. interest rates over 12 months Excel line graphs can also incorporate several variables to observe and confirm any correlations/relationships between variables E.g. profit margin fluctuations over 12 months vs. costs of inventory Pie Graphs Visually simple for presentations to management. For example a product has several products it sells. Can create a pie graph of this to show how much of each product contributes to the firms overall profit, and to investigate further any products that need to be dropped or boosted. E.g. a product only contributes 5% to profits, so is a small slice on a pie graph.
