Explanation / Answer

1.The process through which the present earth's interior was formed is known as differentiation.

When the earth was in molten state in the beginning denser material concentrated near the center due to gravity force and lighter material concentrated near the surface. When the earth cooled and solidified ,the denser material remained at the center and lighter material remained at the surface which caused differentiation.

2. One famous theory for the formation of moon was that a mars sized object collided with the earth so many billions of years back. This collision turned the earth into molten state. This emitted material into outer orbit.

Some material fallen back to the earth. Some material collected at one place due to mutual attraction and formed the moon which we see today.
