which is younger to older layer.Because folding and faulting can deformed the horizantal beds during continental collision or converging plates or mountain buildings.
The direction young deposited layers can determined by the small scale features that indicate way up the beds.
And/or In stratigraphy other methods are used find this way up structures in degormed beds.
