Question
You're coming to the end of a phase of a project in Brisbane, Australia that you've been working on for six months. You're enjoying the work, and know you can talk to the site manager and organize another six-month placement on the same project. You're approached by a senior manager connected to a large project based in a rural area on the other side of the country. She asks you to consider taking a six-month assignment on her project with an immediate start. Here you'll be providing essential project support to a small, under-resourced team. The senior manager would like you to decide in the next two days and to leave next week if you decide to accept the assignment. How would you proceed? By dragging and dropping, please RANK ORDER the options below, with 1 being what you would be most likely to do and 5 being what you would be least likely to do: Your instinct is that this would be a positive opportunity to take. You will consider her suggestion and let her know in two days. You'd find it exciting to take on this assignment and would be happy to change your plans at short notice. You enjoy new challenges such as this one. 2 You'd like to stay on your current project. You're more confident working on projects where you have good experience of the work and environment. 3 You'd prefer to do another placement on your current project as you are doing good work and still have a lot to learn in your role. You enjoy staying with something until you feel you've mastered it 4 You're not sure whether you should change direction as you have enjoyed the project you're currently working on.You'd feel more comfortable after being given some time to research the new project 5Explanation / Answer
SEE the phase one of current project is done so he was going to take the next assignment on same project in same envoirnment .
as comapred to the current project which is in city of australia where all requried resources will be easaily avilable the project offered by lady is in rural areas where both less resources unskilled man power needs to utilize and produce result in six month ,but this add much to his current profile and will add diversity in his working experience . his demand after working in those tough envoirnment will more and yes for few time he may earn less but the learning from new project will give him ample oppurtunity in future work he will do in the area of his expertise.
also for any person(with skill) the main aim is work for other or backwork under devloped part of society.
so
option b and a look like same for ranking it to one but in option a shows you did all calculation and thought this through with proper research on the area and company and area you are going into
although option a also suggest that two days is not enough but in life the big oppurtunity comes this way with little time to decide....>>>>
so i will go with option a as rank 1
than option b as rank two
option d as rank 3 because it shows progessive mode than option c which shows you do not want change in life and person have very low risk taking capabilty this shows that chanches for you to go higher in life is very less ..
while option d shows even if you donnt take new assignment because you want to take these new challegese when you feel comletley ready....>>> although this level varies from person to person>>
hence option c will 4th
option e wil be last because it shows you cannt even decide what you want from future version of you or you donnt have very long term plan for your carrier.
