How do you feel about having your biometric features such as fingerprints and facial features encoded in documents such as passport? Explain your answer.

Would your answer be the same about having biometric information on your driver’s license and social security card as your passport? Why or why not?

What biometric features should be encoded in your employee identification card?

How such proposed encoding may minimize security problems created both outsiders and employees. Provide specific scenarios to support your argument.

Explanation / Answer

Biometrics is an important security measure and I would be completely comfortable with my biometrics encoded for important documents like passport. It is the requirement in the digital age of today where added security is needed and there are so many failures transactions and one may encounter issues of security in personal, private or public life. Biometrics in passport or any other valid important document helps in the process of authorization.

Single factor authorization becomes important for the companies and the companies are moving away from it with passwords which have become alphanumeric and complicated. The process of biometrics makes it easier in fact. The process of biometrics is essential and few people might feel that it is privacy invasion.
But the terror alerts around the world and major issues like the 9/11 has put stress on important security factors for identification documents. The measures taken of biometrics will help to reduce the problems associated with any invasion by people and misuse the identity documents of individuals. It will in fact help for securing one's data and their information effectively.
