Question
- The circuits that we have studied so far, including those circuits used by the simulation software Multisim show a “ground node” or a “ground connection.” Explain why you think that this node is called “ground.” Do you know of other terms having similar meaning? Does this mean that this node is connected to the ground?

Explanation / Answer
Ground Node is the term used instead of zero potential i.e. it has zero voltage or negative voltage. it is alternate name of earthed or it may be reffered as zero reference point.
It doesn't mean that it is connected to ground, it is actually used to transfer any extra leakage current to zero Potential, which is connected to ground i.e. earth surface. It is used for safety purpose.
