When switch is closed, Rclosed = (R1*R2)/(R1+R2) = 36.65 ohms

b.) When switch is open, Popen = V^2/Ropen = V^2/R1 = 8.1^2/58.5 = 1.121 W

When switch is closed, Pclosed = V^2/Rclosed = V^2/R1 = 8.1^2/36.65 = 1.79 W

2.) A || B = A*B/(A+B)
