Comparison of electric & gravity forces: Two identical blocks are placed 5 m apart. Each has a mass of 7 kg, is electrically neutral, and is made entirely of copper. Note: One copper atom has a mass of 1.055-10-25 kg and contains 29 protons. a.) How many electrons must a neutral copper atom have? b.) Estimate the percentage of a copper atom's mass that is due to: Do a proton & electron have an equal amount of charge? Of mass? Also, what constitutes the remaining mass of these copper atoms? c.) Estimate how many electrons each of these blocks has within it. d.) You now remove an equal amount of electrons from each block, so the electric repulsion of the blocks cancels their gravitational attraction to each other. (Note: You may assume the mass of the blocks is not significantly reduced when removing these electrons- why?) What is the charge on each block now? How many electrons were removed from each block? Give a number, and then also express this as a percentage of the total number in the block. Did your answers for this part depend on the distance between the blocks? e.) Suppose ALL of the electrons suddenly disappeared from the blocks. How much repulsive force would the blocks exert on each other (initially, before each block itself dispersed)? Express in Newtons and as multiples of the weight of a jetliner (about 106 N). mass of electrons= 29*9.1*10^-31

% mass of proton= 43.9810 %
proton and electron have equal charges , but differnt mass. teh rest comes from neutrons.
(c)ans= 29*7/(1.055*10^-25)=1.9241706*10^27
(d) gravitational force= 1.30732*10^-10 N
electric force= 9*10^9*(1.6*10^-19)^2*(N^2)/25
=>N= 3766341708 ( number of electrons removed)
in % , 1.9574*10^-16 %
total charge= N*1.6*10^-19=6.02614*10^-10 C
(e) charge of each= 1.9241706*10^27*1.6*10^-19 =307867296 C
F= k*(q^2)/(d^2)=1.108322*10^17 N
F=1.108322*10^11 times the jetliner.
