b) what is the best method for connecting composite components to each other and stainless steel parts when the product will be used under load?

C) What adhesives would you recommend for:

i) attaching a rubber part to solid materials?

ii) Connecting a steel pulley onto a steel shaft?

v) bonding metals to metals whislt hig strength is maintained?

Explanation / Answer

A) They are generally contact type(no pressure to obtain strong bonds) to provide shear resistance in laminates. they are neoprene and natural rubber both undergo atrain hardening.

B)Hot melt adhesive can be used in which resins or theromsets in which they have to be melted and then applied

C)

1) for attaching rubber part to solid material is same contact adhesives in which neoprene and natural rubber are presesnt.

2)for steel pulley to solid shaft generally interference is being used.

3) for rapid production UV light curing adhesives can be used.UV light curing adhesives not only bond materials together but they can also be used to seal and coat products. They are generally acrylic-based.

4)Hot melt adhesive can be used for this purpose.
