this is adiabetic expantion of gas, what happens here, as the gas leaks out temperature gradiant almost remanis constant(zero) between two closest consecutive layers of gas, as the process is so fast, heat donot get time to go from one layer to another. But when the gas comes outside, the process gets slower and the gas can expand freely, and hence the temperature drops.
