Every organization is different in terms of its functioning, its environment. There are even departments inside the same organisation which have their own seperate way of taking cre of projects.. In such a diverse situation, it is nt possible to provide a solution that fits to all.

One such principle of maintaining the information technology projects is known as Agile mthodology, which describes how should a project be completed. It tells a standard 4 weeks time span(known as sprint), and 4-5 membes team. While the definitions are pretty standard, there are some organizations which don't have a team of 4-5 persons for smaller projects, on the other hand, in big projects, there can be a team of 15-20 persons also. Depending upon the complexity of the project, some organizations can delievr it in 4 weeks(1 sprint) while some organizations, make the sprint as 6 weeks, as their projects are more complex and can not be completed in 4 weeks.

There are organizations which are spread across geographies in world and hence require a different mode of communication.. Those diverse teams may not be able to contribute to the project at same time of the day.

While you can use a book methodology as a basis, you won’t get efficient results as if you would have customized your own methods. The books serve as the foundation, on which you need to create the structure as per your own needs.
