Question
A jogger travels a route that has two parts. The first is a displacement of 2.70 km due south, and the second involves a displacement that points due east. The resultant displacement + has a magnitude of 4.30 km. (a) What is the magnitude of , and what is the direction of + as a positive angle relative to due south? (b) Suppose that - had a magnitude of 4.30 km. What then would be the magnitude of , and what is the direction of - relative to due south?Explanation / Answer
if u look at ur question nd make diagram of path it will turn out to be a RIGHT ANGLE TRIANGLE in this the hypotenuse along with one side is given . u have to find the other side . Now i believe that i made ur problem clear to u nd the solution will be in understandable form we know --> a^2 + b^2 = c^2 ( where a nd b r sides while c is hypotenuse of right angled triangle ). (3.14)^2 + b^2 = (3.77)^2 b = 14.2129 - 9.8596 b^2 = 4.3533 b = 2.0864 ( ur answer) therefore magnitude of B is 2.0864 . i hope u understand the method.
