As shown in the circuit diagram below, four AC voltmeter are connected to a series circuit which contains a resistor, an inductor a capacitor, and an AC generator. The voltmeter read RMS values. The EMF of the AC generator is given by e(t)=(140v)sin((300rad/s)t) Determine the reading on voltmeter V3

E(t) = 140 sin 300t . ..... Erms = 140 / sqrt(2) = 70sqrt(2) V . ............................ Z = 1000 + j (300*1 - 1 / (300*10^-6)) ==> | Z | = sqrt (1000^2 + (300*1 - 1 / (300*10^-6)) ^2 ) = 3193.92 ohms .............so I rms = Erms / |Z| .............reading on V3 = I rms * |z3| = 70 sqrt(2) * [1 / (300*10^-6) ] / 3193.92 = 103.32 V
