In a movie, a space ship explodes in outer space, and you hear a big boom a little bit after the very bright light flash. What is wrong with the movie? Nothing. It would take much longer after you see the explosion for the sound to reach you If you could see the light flash, you would be dead, and if a ship blows up with nobody to hear it. it doesn't make a sound. Sound can't travel in outer space: it needs air or some other material medium to travel through. The sound would be more like a whisper by the time it got all the way to you.
