Question

There is 3 blocks at rest in the system shown below. The 3 blocks are connected by a rope with uniform tension. Block #1 has a mass of 1.4kg, block #2 has a mass of 3.7kg and block #3 has a mass of 2.5kg. The table top has an incline of 35 degrees above the horizontal. Find the Coefficient, the normal force, the force of friction? This damn thing wont let me upload the photo, so block 1 hangs on the left, block 2 (on the table)is on a 35 degree angle to the left and block 3 is hanging on the right of the table.

Explanation / Answer

m1= 1.4 kg
m2 = 3.7 kg
m3 = 2.5 kg
T2 = m3g = 24.5N

T1 = m1g =13.72 N

T1 +m2gsin -Friction force -T2 = 0

13.72 + 20.798 -F - 24.5 =0

Friction force = 10.01 N =m2gcos =*29.70

= 0.337
