Question
A single turn coil of radius 4.50 cm is held in a vertical plane and a magnet is rapidly moved relative to the coil as shown in the diagram below.
The field inside the coil changes from 0.360 T to 0.530 T in 0.120 s. If the resistance of the coil is 3.30 ?, what are the magnitude and direction of the induced current in the coil as viewed from the side of the magnet?
Answer:______mA
A single turn coil of radius 4.50 cm is held in a vertical plane and a magnet is rapidly moved relative to the coil as shown in the diagram below. The field inside the coil changes from 0.360 T to 0.530 T in 0.120 s. If the resistance of the coil is 3.30 ?, what are the magnitude and direction of the induced current in the coil as viewed from the side of the magnet?Explanation / Answer
here induced voltage = (0.530-0.360)*pi*(4.50/100)^2/0.120 = 9.0127 mV
so current = 9.0127/3.30 = 2.7311 mA
direction -> it emerges from +y side and goes into the plane at -ve y
