Question

                        In the figure, R1 = 6.2 ?, R2 = 8.9 ?, L1 = 0.26 H, L2 = 0.15 H, and the ideal                         battery has ? = 7.2 V. (a) Just after switch S is closed, at what rate is the current in inductor 1 changing? (b) When the circuit is in the                         steady state, what is the current in inductor 1?

                        Please type out the answer and label all componets, please show work for full points. There are 2 parts to this question. Please answer them both.

Explanation / Answer

A)

current in inductor 1= 7.2*(1/0.26)= 27.7A/s

B)

When the circuit is in the steady state,

1/Rmean= (1/r1+1/r2)

1/Rmean= (1/6.2+1/8.9)

Rmean=1/0.2736498

Rmean=3.6543

now current in inductor 1 is equal to the potantial differce between r1 and r2

so creent will be

i=r/v

=3.6543/7.2= 0.5075A
