Question
Horizontal vertical
Three charges are positioned as indicated. What are the horizontal and vertical components of the net force exerted on the +15 uC charge by the +11uC and +13 uC charges. What is the net force on +15 uC. please be specific in the steps to solve the problem. I know i'm using coulombs law, but i dont understand is when to use sin cos properly; and when to place the negative or positive signs in relation to the force on the charges.

Force by 13?C :
F1 =9*10^9*13*10^-6*15*10^-6/0.075^2
=312 N
Force by 11?C :
F2 =9*10^9*15*10^-6*11*10^-6/(0.075^2+0.10^2)
= 95.04 N
HOrtizontal Force :
F(horizontal) = 95.04*cos(37) = 75.902 N OR 76 N
Vertical Force :
F(vertical) = 95.04*sin(37) + 312 = 369.196 N 370 N
