*Please show all intermediate steps, with clarity
A capacitor C with a capacitance of 3.0 mu F is connected to a voltage source V and charged fully to 30 mu C. The capacitor is then connected to in series with an inductor L. The charge q on the capacitor in the LC circuit at a time t later satisfies the equation q = 30 cos(5 pi t), where q is measured in mu C and t is measured in seconds. Determine the magnitude of voltage V used to charge the capacitor to its maximum value, the period of the oscillation, and an expression for the current in the circuit as a function of time.Explanation / Answer
(i) V = Q/C = (30uC)/(3uF) = 10V
(ii) I = dq/dt = -30sin(5*pi*t)
Now since I = I0sin(?t + ?)
Hence, ? = 5*pi = 2*pi*f
Hence, f = 5/2 = 2.5 Hz
(iii) I = dq/dt = -30sin(5*pi*t)
