An extremely long gyroscope has been built at north pole. It has length L, and is mounted exactly horizontally, with a disk spinning with angular velocity omega s. The length is so long, however, that the curvature of the earth becomes important. Using Newtonian gravity (i.e., do not assume a uniform constant gravitational acceleration) calculate the precession rate of the gyroscope. Express the final answer in terms of the expected orbital period at the position of the gyroscope.
