Question
Searching Chegg and Yahoo didn't find me any help to start this.
A radio transmitter A, operating at 60 MHz is 10 meters from another transmitter, B that is 180 degrees out of phase with A. How far must an observer move from A toward B along the line connecting A and B, to reach the nearest point where the two beams are in phase? The answer is 1.25 meters.
Because they are out of phase, my first guess is that delta = d sin theta = (m + 1/2) A, except I don't have enough of the parameters. Same is true for my other thought, lamda = yd/mL but again, not enough info for that formula. Thanks for the help
Explanation / Answer
Y = mLR/d
since frequency is given. wavelngth L can be determined as L = V/f = 3*10^8/6010^6
L = 5m, d= 0.5
now R = 0.5 *0.5* 10/2 = 1.25 m
