Question
This is communication system(electrical engineering)
parts (a),(b),(c). For part(c), label the point at which
the Nyquist plot crosses the real axis as A. Your answer should then be
in terms of K0 related to A
Chegg textbook solution is now good :(
The Nyquist diagrams for two stable, open-loop systems are sketched in Fig. The proposed operating gain is indicated as Ko, and arrows indicate increasing frequency. In each case give a rough estimate of the following quantities for the closed-loop (unity feedback) system: (a) Phase margin; (b) Damping ratio; (c) Range of gain for stability (if any); (d) System type (0, 1, or 2). Figure Nyquist plots ImlG(s)l RelG(s)] RelGOs)l (a) (b)Explanation / Answer
(a) The phase margin for the first system is very low and for the second system the phase margin is high.
(b) The damping ratio of first system is low while for the second system the damping ratio is high.
(c) Range of gain for stability is,
For first system the gain > K0 and for the second system the gain < K0.
(d) The first system is of Type 2 because full circle is enclosed and the second system is of Type 1 because the semicircle is enclosed.
