Question

The receiver portion of a radio system is shown in Figure 1 below, in the green shaded box. Briefly describe the functions of each component in the receiver portion of a radio system in terms of how each component transforms the receiving signal from the antenna to the input of the A/D converter for further processing and storage.

Explanation / Answer

Power supply and management is used to provide power to onboard equipment.

Antenna is used to transmit and receive signal

Duplexer transfer signal to transmit ckt

Bandpass filter allows frequency which is in band and reject other.

Low noise amplier is used to amplify low signal received from antenna

PA is power amplifier it increase the power

Local oscillator are used to change the frequency coming from antenna along with mixer

Mixer is used to add it subtract frequency

Low pass filter allows only low frequency signal and reject high frequency signal

Amplifier is used to increase power of signal

A/d d/a are used to convet analog to digital and vise versa

Audio input /output is used for audio signalvi.e low frequency signal

Storage to store data

Vedio used for vedio signal I.e high frequency signal
