Question
which test method can you use to study the solidification properties of a metal a) Cooling the material in a refrigerator chamber c) Reynold test 2.What should you think about the thickness of the goods to ensure good casting results? Why? in b)It should bave a large variety c)It should be homogeneous 3.The melt velocity at the entrance to the a) Melting temperature and yiscosity b)The cross sectional area of the melting area c)The height of the pouring cup 4. What is the most likely cause of erosion of the cast channel in a sandy form? a)The flow rate of the melt is far too high b)The sand is not sufficiently, compactly hammered c) The tlow rate gt the melt is far toO JQWExplanation / Answer
)a because if you cool in a refrigerator chamber you can control the solidification rates by changing the rate of heat extraction by that you can predict the solidification properties. Whereas, in Reynolds test the flow of metal is considered as is only of computational importance .
(c) it should be homogenous all along the thickness of casting because if it's non-homogeneous then the casting will have different properties all along it's depth which is undesirable.
(a)
(a) and (b) both can be the cause of the erosion .
