Question
Current and Voltage Transformers 3A Outputs of two CT with designations of 10C200 and 10c400 are connected in parallel. What is the class designation of this combination considered to be a single CT? 3.6 Two ideal CTs with turns ratios of 300 5 and 600 5 are connected as shown in Figure 3.6a and b. If the primary current is 3000A and the burden is 1 2, what are the voltages at the secondary terminals of the CTs in the two cases? 3.7 Three ideal C's with turns ratios of 600 5 are connected in wye and a configuration as shown in Figure 3.21a and b respectively. For the primary currents shown in each case, what are the currents 11, 12, 13, and lo? 1000 Loo 2000, 1800 1000 4800 2 1000 Loe LAA: 0010 1 (a) Figure 3.21 Configuration for problem 3.7Explanation / Answer
3.5 )
10C400 CT will provide 100A in the secondary with no more than 10% error at the 400V secondary
10C200 CT will provide 100 A in the seondary with no more than 10 % error at the 200 V secondary
When CTs are paralleled their secondary currents get added
for example 300/5A CT in parallel with 300/5A CT will result in output result as 300/10A
hence in current case the we are paralleling 200V and 400V CTs hence output CT will have 400V support
hece class designation with be 10C400 of the combination.
please note for second question 3.6 figure is not provided.
