Question
A single-turn square loop of side L is centered on the axis of a long solenoid. In addition, the plane of the square loop is perpendicular to the axis of the solenoid. The solenoid has 1290 turns per meter and a diameter of 6.00 cm, and carries a current of 2.60 A.(a) Find the magnetic flux through the loop when L = 3 cm.
(b) Find the magnetic flux through the loop when L = 6.00 cm.
(c) Find the magnetic flux through the loop when L = 12 cm.
How do you mainly do b) and c) ? I was able to figure out a) ... but the equation didn't work for b) and c). Can someone please explain this. Thanks!
Explanation / Answer
Magnetic Flux is determined by: B = µNI / h where µ is the magnetic constant (4p×10^-7 H/m), h is the height of the loop
