could you please help me with these questions

Question 9 10 pts Two parallel-plate capacitors, each having a capacitance of C1 C2F, are connected in parallel across a 14-V battery. Find the total energy stored in the capacitors in units of J Question 10 10 pts Two parl-plate apaciters, each avga apacilance f C2 F, are connected in paralel across a 10-V batiery. The parallel combination i s then disconnected from the battery and a dielectric slab of constant K 1.9 is inserted between the plates of the capacitor C2, completely filling the gap. After the dielectric is iriserled, fid the patential diflerence acioss each capaco. Your answer must conlain 2 figures after the decimal point. Question 11 10 pts Two parallel-plate capacitors, each having a capacitance of C1 C2 AF, are connected in parallel across a 9-V baery The parallel combination i s then disconnected from the battery and a dielectric slab of constant K 2.2 is inserted between the plates of the capacitor C2, completely filling the gap. After the dielectric is inserted, find the charge an the second capacitcx, C2. Your answer must contain 1 figures after the decimal point.

Explanation / Answer

9.

For parallel combination

Ceq = C1 + C2 + C3 +...............

for series combination

1/Ceq = 1/C1 + 1/C2 + 1/C3 + ............

for 2 capacitors in series it will be

Ceq = C1*C2/(C1+C2)

Using this Information:

Since Both capacitors are in parallel, So

Ceq = C1 + C2 = 9 uF + 9 uF = 18 uF

Now energy Stored in Capacitors is given by:

U = 0.5*C*V^2

V = 14 V

So,

U = 0.5*18*10^-6*14^2

U = 1.76*10^-3 J = 1.76 mJ
