Means -

Ug = K + Ug

=> GMm/R = ½ mv² + GMm/[R+h]

=> GM/[R+h] = GM/R - v²/2

=> 2GMR = [2GM - v²R]*[R+h]

=> [2GMR] / [2GM - v²R] = [R+h]

=> h = [2GMR] / [2GM - v²R] - R

put the following values -

G = 6.67e-11
M = 5.98e+24 kg
R = 6.38e+6 m
v = 4.2 e+3 m/s

So, h = [2*6.67e-11 * 5.98e+24 * 6.38e+6] / [2*6.67e-11*5.98e+24 - (4.2 e+3)^2*6.38e+6] - 6.38e+6

= [ 508.95*e+19] / [79.77e+13 - 11.25e+13] - 6.38e+6

= [ 508.95*e+19] / [68.52e+13] - 6.38e+6

= 7.43e+6 - 6.38e+6
