Explanation / Answer

Remember:
For parallel combination
Ceq = C1 + C2 + C3 +...............
for series combination
1/Ceq = 1/C1 + 1/C2 + 1/C3 + ............
for 2 capacitors in series it will be
Ceq = C1*C2/(C1+C2)
Using this Information:

C2 and C3 are in Series, So

C23 = C2*C3/(C2 + C3) = 3*4/(3 + 4) = 1.71 uF

Now C23 and C1 are in parallel, So

Ceq = C23 + C1 = 1.71 + 2.00 = 3.71 uF

Now we know that

Qeq = Ceq*V

Qeq = 3.71*24 = 89.04 uC

Now remember in capacitors parallel combination voltage distribution in each part will be same and in series combination charge distribution in each capacitor will be same.

Voltage on C23 = Voltage on C1 = V = 24 V

Charge on C23 = Q23 = C23*V23

Q23 = 1.71*24 = 41.04 uC

Since C3 and C2 are in series, So

Charge on C2 = Charge on C3 = 41.04 uC

Q2 = 41.04 uC

Energy stored in C2 will be

U2 = Q2^2/(2*C2)

U2 = (41.04*10^-6)^2/(2*3*10^-6)

U2 = 280.71*10^-6 J

U2 = 280.71 uJ
