Question
Square Wire Loop in a Uniform Magnetic Field Due in 4 hours, 10 minutes A square wire loop with 1.200 m sides is perpendicular to a uniform magnetic field, with half the area of the loop in the field, as shown in the figure. The resistance of the wire is 0.64 ? and the internal resistance of the battery is 0.74 ?. If the total emf in the loop is 33.264 V calculate the emf of the battery, when the magnitude of the field varies with time according to B = 0.042 8.70t, with B in teslas and t in seconds. Submit Answer Tries 0/10 What is the current in the circuit? Submit Answer Tries o/10o What is the potential drop across the internal resistance of the battery? Submit Answer Tries 0/10Explanation / Answer
Given ,
B = 0.042 - 8.70t
dB / dt = -8.70
E = - N dB/dt . A WHERE A = 1/2*L2
E = -1 * (-8.70) . 0.72
E = 6.264
we are given net emf as 33.364 volts, so emf of the battery is 33.364 - 6.264 = 27.1 volts
current in circuit = I = V / R = 27.1 / 0.64 = 42.34 amps
Potential drop = V = Ir = 42.34*0.74 = 31.33
