Question
1. Construct the following circuit in Multisim. D1 2 V1 Do a transient analysis to find the current through the diode. Set initial condition to "set to zero", start time is O seconds and end time is 1 second. Comment on the current value? What would happen to the diode if placed on a physical circuit?l a. Redraw the diode so that the current through the circuit is 1.2 mA. Redo the transient simulation to verify results. Does the placement of the resistor in front or behind the diode matter? The placement of the resistor does not matter b.Explanation / Answer
According to the above circuit Design
In the Transient (Final) state Analysis it is stated condition as initially t1=0sec and t2=1;
If we place the diode in place of the flowing current which flows from the voltage source(i.e..Voltage Always flows from low potential to High potential and current as vice-versa)
Always the condition is that the diode always allows the current to flow in unidirection which avoids reverse current.
if we place the Resistor infront or behind the Diode matters Alot.As Resistor is always used to pass/Resists the flow of current and that point the voltage get drops.So, Current flow will be limited.
According to ohms law it is defined as for the above circuit as " voltage is always directly proportional to current at constant temperature that is given relation as
therefore, V=RxI
where V= Voltage source(v)
R= Resistor(Ohm)
I= Current (A)
According to above relation we can find the current value 1.2mA by placing the desired resistor value in front of the Diode which allows flow of limited current such that the circuit is in safe condition.
