Repeat the problem assuming the mass of the rod to be 1.90 kg.

The problem seems simple - I've already tried it using the moment of inertia and the rotational KE equation, but I think I'm going about the mass issue incorrectly.

A light rod of length = 1.00 m rotates about an axis perpendicular to its length and passing through its center as in the figure below. Two particles of masses m1 = 4.75 kg and m2 = 3.00 kg are connected to the ends of the rod. Neglecting the mass of the rod, what's the KE of the system when its angular velocity is 2.60 rad/s?
