2.8 ft = 1/2 * 32ft/s2 * t2

solve for t, t = .4183 seconds

now we can solve for the velocity

17 ft = vt

17 ft = .4183 v

v = 40.63 ft/s

converting that to mph

40.63 * (3600s/hr) * (1 mile/5280ft) = 27.71 mph

speed at ground is 27.71 in the x direction

in the y direction its
