Epidemology is used to study the disease or its impact on human health in order to reduce it in the population. Basic goal of epidemological investigation agency
1) to stop spread of disease via survey, interviews and data analysis to identify causative agent, mode of transmission, source of exposure and populatiin at risk to stop outbreak.
2) to protect public by vaccine campaign, medical surveillance and health education.
3) to protect public health and other response personnal.
Goal of ciminal investigation is
1) to protect criminal act and subsequent attack - intelligence agency and surveillance system gather information to identify potential terriorist , their target and method of attack.
2) to identify , apprehend and proscute the preperators - To apprehend individual responsible for crime.
3) To protect low enforcement personnal
Major difference in two documents are in epidemological investigation public health personnal are involve whereas in criminal investigation low enforcement personnal are involved.
In epidemological investigation , we are identifying the disease agent and their mode of transmission whereas criminal investigation identify the group that are responsible for biological attack . Although these two information is similiar but in one case we are identifying region of disease but in other we are identifying the person who are releasing the biological agent in environment.
In the epidemological investigation , we are gathering information about disease and preventing measure is develop accordingly to protect public health. In criminal investigation , we are identifying the person and giving him punishment but not give information regarding disease causing agent and its impact of human health.
