1. People tend to think that all traits are adaptations because living organisms possess a variety of impressive adaptations suh as camouflage, attracting pollinators by a flower, catching of prey. Some of these traits may be adaptations, but all traits are not adaptations.
2. All traits are not adaptaions because some traits are passed on from parents to progeny. A particular codon codes for an amino acid and is passed on from that individual to its progeny. Some traits are the result of chemical reactions such as the red colour of blood. The colour of blood is not an adaptive trait and is because of the presence of an iron containing pigment called haemoglobin in the blood.
