What I don't understand is why v=0 when x=L and dv/dx=0 when x=L ...this last part is confusing.
The book doesn't say how it got the values only that they got them from the avaiable boudary conditions.

its very simple...the point where rod is attached with the wall is fixed, it doesnt move in any direction.So net displacement is zero at point of fixation and so is the slope (dv/dx)
