Question
A woman with mass of 58 kg stands at the rim of a horizontal table having a moment of inertia of 430 kgm2 and a radius of 2.1 m. The turntable is initially at rest and is free to rotate about a frictionless, vertical axis through its center. The woman then starts walking around the rim clockwise (as viewed from above the system) at a constant speed of 1.3 m/s relative to the Earth. With what angular speed does the turntable rotate? How much work does the woman do ON THE TABLE to set it into motion?Explanation / Answer
solution
sory for inconvinience i used different numbers change and get exact ans
SINCE THEIR IS NO SLPPING BN women and table
1.So velocity = radius*angular velocity
1.5=2*w ==>
w=0.75 rads anticlockwise
2.Work done= change in KE of herself + Change in rotational KE of table
HERE iNERTIA (I) = 500 +(Mwomen*R^2) =760
W= (0.5*65*.75*.75 ) + (0.5*Inertia*w^2)
W =18.28 + (.5*760*.75*.75) W=232.03 Joules
Peter k the moment of INERTIA IS GIVEN BY MR^2 and not Mr
u have made that error please see
also the Angular velocity of women and table is same!!!
Please tell us all on what is NEGATIVE ENERGY!!!
