Question
The concentration of a solution can be expressed in many different ways, depending on the units used. Do the following conversions 9. mg/100 ml mg/ml ug/ml 0.9% NaCl g/100 ml mg/100 ml mg/ml g/ml = 10. Nitrate reduction broth using in microbiology contains 1.000 g KNO, in one liter of water. What is the concentration of NO, (nitrate) in this solution in ppm? (Show your work) 11. Ammonium broth, used in microbiology to enrich for nitrifying bacteria, contains 1.000 g (NH)SO, in one liter of water. What is the concentration of NH, in this solution in ppm? 1. Molecular weight of NaCl= 58.4
Amount of NaCl contain in 0.600M in 1L= (58.4/1)X 0.600
=35.04gm
Amount of NaCl contain in 0.600M in 100ml= 35.04/10
=3.504gm
so, =3.504 gm/100ml
= 3504 mg/100ml
=35.04 mg/ml
=35040ug/ml
Second part,
0.9% NaCl= 0.9gm/100ml
=90mg/100ml
=0.9mg/ml
=900ug/ml
