Question
You should select one of the choices below and then provide your response to that question.
Choice 1: Should human beings be considered a nonnative (invasive species) or a "keystone species?" In your explanation please use at least one example of a nonnative species to and one example of a "keystone" species to help illustrate your point. Show why humans do or don't act as invasive or keystone species. Use specific behaviors and impacts in your answers.
Choice 2 Imagine you are faced with the following situation: You have all the necessary resources to save a very large national park in Northern New England or a smaller park in the rainforest of Costa Rica. Which would you chose to save and why? Please provide at least three viable reasons for your decisions backed back factual evidence and research, and cite those sources accordingly. You must have specific examples in your answer. Mentioning the idea of "biological hotspots" would be beneficial, as would be exploring biological "richness" and "evenness" in your discussion. (Remember to back up your responses and arguments with factual data that you researched on your own through a textbook, the library, or the web)
Explanation / Answer
Ans- choice 1- the invasive species are those species which have come from a different region and cause harm to the ecosystem of a local area e.g cane tode.
Keystonespecies is a species which play very much important role in the development of the ecosystem of a local area. If the keystone species is not present then the ecosytem of that area will be totally diffrent or in other words we can't imagine an ecosystem without a keystone species. E.g human
Human should be considered as a keystone species as we have very cruicial role in the development of the ecosystem. We plan and develop the ecosystem according to our choice and needs which is characteristics feature of keystone species that is why human should be considered keystone species.
